I can’t believe it!!

That I actually finished a cardigan!! Last year I tried many time to knit a February lady sweater, but apparently my brain wasn’t good enough to complete the task.. But this time I made it, I actually finished it and I’m already wearing it a lot!

It’s the Rosamund’s Cardigan from Interweave Knits, Fall 2009. I wasn’t sure if knitting long or short sleves, in the end I decided for short sleves and I’m happy I did. I used less than 6 skeins of Madil Loden (Yes I know, I developed an insane passion for tweed…. ^_^ I can’t help myself, now I want to use even more tweed). I followed the pattern without mods. I could have made more decreasings, to have a better fitting, but I will wear it lot anyway. The pattern is well written and easy to follow, and if I hadn’t to knit the Christmas gifts I think I would have finished in 2 weeks. uh, and I got gauge, also incredible! The top-down construction in great, you can actually try it on while knitting and see if it fits or not and it’s soooo easy.

Christmas knitted gifts

On Christmas day we woke up early and drove to my mom’s place, in Romagna to spend there some days. Christmas lunch was great, with my parents, my sister’s family and gran. As always my mom cooked for hundreds of people and the only thing I managed to do in the afternoon was to sit on the sofa and finish my Rosamund’s cardigan. That’s pretty much what I have done during the rest of the days we spent there…. Eating, knitting and sleeping a lot! Perfect holidays! ^_^

So, as I have delivered all my knitted gifts I can post photos. Surely next year I will start sooner to knit Christmas gifts, or at leas (altro…)

Christmas Workshop

Ops, I disappeared once again… Sorry! But I’ve been knittin glike mad trying to finish as much gifts as possible for Christmas. Needless to say that I’m far from finishing all of them… I have been distracted by a cardigan I desperately wanted… I will share pictures and details of my projects soon, from next Thursday I will be on holidays! Can’t wait!

In the meantime I can share with you the day I spent at the Knit-House UnFilodi, for a workshop on Christmas decorations. Of course I came home with a bag full of yarn, some was for more gifts, and some for me…you know, as I was there it happened that some skeins asked me to take them home and love them and I  couldn’t say no of course! ^_^

Busy weekend

I enjoyed this past weekend so much!

We have been a bit busy and now I have to say I feel tired and sleepy but I had so much fun!

Friday we hosted a birthday party for Luca. It was supposed to be a surprise but I think he knew what we were doing. It was his 30th birthday! We ordered some pizza from a friend who recently opened a bakery and she delivered it at home. We were 10 and I didn’t feel like spending too much time cooking and this way we didn’t have to wash tons of dishes too.

FO

As my secret pal received the package I sent her I can now post some pictures of the cowl i knitted for her.

I choosed to knit Emma’s Lai’s cowl using a skein of Lorna’s lace Shepherd Sock. I really enjoyed the pattern, which is really easy to follow and I like the result. And the yarn is a really nice one, easy to knit with, so soft! and the color… Beautiful!
