Busy weekend

I enjoyed this past weekend so much!

We have been a bit busy and now I have to say I feel tired and sleepy but I had so much fun!

Friday we hosted a birthday party for Luca. It was supposed to be a surprise but I think he knew what we were doing. It was his 30th birthday! We ordered some pizza from a friend who recently opened a bakery and she delivered it at home. We were 10 and I didn’t feel like spending too much time cooking and this way we didn’t have to wash tons of dishes too.

Grey day

I need a bit of color in this grey grey day.

Having fun

By the way, we were spending a weekend in Langhe, in Piemonte last September. We visited this little colorful chapel called “Cappela delle Brunate” an artwork of Sol Lewitt and David Tremlett. It’s immersed in vineyards and you have a great view of the valleys below.

Valle d’Aosta

We spent last week-end at some friends apartment in Valle D’aosta, in a tiny little town called Cuche Pache (love the name!)

I grew up on the Adriatic coast and spent many years in Venice, so I always thought about me more as “sea girl” not as a “mountain girl” (does it make sense?) but I have to admit that I really enjoyed our weekend!

Friday after work F&V picked us up and we drove up to Cuche Pache. It was so a lot colder than here! Brrr! But after a hot hot Summer a taste of cold is not bad (just a taste though!)

Pizza time!

oops, I have been busy knitting during the weekend and I forgot to post about the weekend itself! ^_^’

Well, apart from cooking I haven’t done much, just knitting! But saturday night we met with a couple of friends and we made pizza!! We prepared the dough and then moved at Roberto’s home, where on the huge terrace he has an open air wood stove.

I love Sunday and I love to spend my Sundays knitting and cooking while Dido works on the computer or reads a book or helps me cooking.

Yesterday when I came home after the workshop I discovered that he had already made all the cleanings and that I was free to do nothing! Could I possibly ask more?

So I spent this day knitting and cooking. I baked a loaf of Kamut bread, the same recipe I did last week. We like it and we don’t want to change at the moment. I’m running out of kamut flour though, which means that next loaf will have to be a different one. We’ll see. And then I baked some brioche bread. I tried the recipe I founded on Cathy Ytak’s book. Actualy I finished mixing 2 different recipes and it turned out pretty good. Well, we still have to taste it, but it looks good!
